Anna Akagi (赤城あんな Akagi Anna) is one of the main characters of Kiratto Pri☆Chan. She, along with her childhood friend Sara Midorikawa, are known as popular Pri☆Chan idols. At the start of season 3, she was a 3rd-year student at Kirarigaoka Middle School, but as of episode 153, she became a high school student. She is a lovely-type idol whose preferred brand is Dolly Waltz.

Appearance

Anna has big gold eyes with a slight curve. Her long red hair is pulled into thick ringlet pigtails held by ribbons. Her straight cut bangs have a longer strand on each side, and she has tiny curled forelocks.

Her school uniform is different in that she wears a black vest with white buttons and the jacket is a bolero or cardigan lined with black frills and ruffles. The bow and collar is slightly altered, and she has bows on the wrists. Her skirt has a black petticoat, and she wears stockings.

Personality

Outwardly, Anna is a charming celebrity with cuteness appeal that even threatening animals can't resist. But in reality she is very childish and selfish, always putting herself ahead of others to get what she wants or tampering with things to make competition as hard as possible for others. She has a foul temper and takes everything personally, and she loves to make a big show out of everything she does. But deep down she can be kind, and over time she is growing up a little to be less self-serving. She has also been shown to be quite the perfectionist, as she believed the reason for her failure to obtain her colored jewel coord was because she slipped up on the rotation of her dance in Heroine's Drama.

In season 3, Anna becomes a little more distant and less interactive with other channels (specifically Miracle Kiratts) because of her determination to win the competition presented to her. After winning the Melody Princess Cup, she stops acting distant like before.

Relationships

Sara Midorikawa

Anna's close childhood friend and teammate in Meltic StAr. Sara is usually always seen by Anna's side, and even after Mel's disappearance, she stayed by her side, and the two of them stayed together as a duo Meltic StAr. Being her close friend, Anna can speak freely and be her true self around her.

Mel Shido

Anna's close childhood friend and her teammate in Meltic StAr. When Mel returned to Kirajuku, Anna was shown to be cold towards her, and the reason was because she believed Mel abandoned her and Sara. She was so distraught by Mel's disappearance that she had deleted all performances of the three of them. Even the slightest mention of past performances made her quiet. After seeing Mel again, she was unwilling to forgive her, but Mel's efforts are what allowed the two to finally make up and make Meltic StAr a trio again.

Emo Moegi

Anna's schoolmate in the neighbor class, who is also her rival. They often argue with each other. Despite this, they are rather fond of each other as shown when Anna thankfully receives flowers from Emo after her performance celebrating her return.

During Anna's slump after not receiving her colored Jewel Coord, Emo's grandmother invited Anna to their home, and so Emo and Anna spent more time together. The next day Anna cheers on Emo's performance, but becomes disappointed that Emo did not get her colored Jewel Coord either, creating a strain between the two. They made up after being purposefully stranded by Eri on an island together and also performing together as a duo for the first time.

Mirai Momoyama

A rival who Mirai and her sister have been fans of. She thinks Anna is cute and talented, but she is also aware of her behavior. The two don't interact much until season 3, where Anna starts confronting Mirai because of how formidable she is. She realized that Mirai was the one who pulled her team up every single moment of every single day, and so she began seeing her as a great rival. Now she wants to win the Princess Cup to surpass Mirai, believing that rivalry and friendship goes hand-to-hand.

Erica Roppongi (Eri)

She is an employee of the Akagi Family who often looks after Anna and the other two members of Meltic StAr. Though she does not speak much, she cares very much for Anna's well being.

Etymology

Akagi (赤城) - Aka (赤) means "red", while gi (城) means "castle". Similarly to the other characters' family names, Aka is a reference to her red hair and theme color.

Anna (あんな) is mostly likely a name influenced from the English name, "Anna", which means "grace".
