Emo Moegi (萌黄えも, Moegi Emo) is one of the main characters of Kiratto Pri☆Chan. At the start of season 3, she was a 3rd-year student at Kirarigaoka Middle School, but as of episode 153, she became a high school student. She is the childhood friend of Mirai Momoyama and is a member of the cheerleading club. She is a pop-type idol whose preferred brand is Girl's Yell. Her catchphrase is "Emoi".

Appearance

Emo is a young girl with sharp azure eyes and blonde hair worn in thin pigtails with a curled lock on top, held by pale blue ribbon. Her spiked bangs frame her face with a few sticking up. When wearing her school uniform, she pairs it with a blue, animal-eared parka or hoodie. 

Personality

She's a head-strong girl who acts before thinking. She is passionate and loves sports; as much as she loves a brand new fad until she grows tired of it. She often puts others before herself.

Her childhood friend and teammate in Miracle☆Kiratts. She tends to drag her into activities due to her excitement.

Anna Akagi

Her classmate and rival from the neighboring class who she constantly argues with. They are often seen arguing with each other, and they typically address each other by various insults/descriptions. On the surface, they act like they have a strong dislike for one another, but they are rather fond of each other. In episode 61, when hearing about Meltic StAr's return, Emo became excited to see Anna once again. Upon overhearing Oshama Tricks getting panicky over spreading the rumors, she becomes overwhelmed with disappointment and sadness. Before she could relay the information to Mirai and Rinka, Meltic StAr appears and does a performance. After their performance, Emo, filled with relief and joy, dashes and greets Anna with a big hug tackle. Although Anna was confused and flustered at her behavior, Emo welcomes her again with a hug.

In episode 87, Emo's grandma came across Anna who was disappointed with herself after receiving her pure jewel coord instead of her colored one, and takes her to the Moegi home. Emo and Anna spend the night together as Anna confesses how she felt about her last performance. The following day, Emo does a performance and Jewel Chance, but like Anna, she obtains her pure jewel coord. Although she doesn't get her colored coord, Emo felt satisfied, to which Anna confronts her, believing that she and Emo could never see eye-to-eye. In the following episode, the two become separated from their friends and stranded on an island together. In their strife, the two worked together to survive and grew closer to each other to where they have their first duet together.

Etymology

Moegi (萌黄) - Moe (萌) means "sprout", while gi (黄) means "yellow". Together, they mean "yellowish-green". Gi is a reference to her yellow hair and theme color, similarly to the other characters' family names.

Emo (えも) - In Japan, the term is used for the "Emotional Hardcore" genre of music.
