Yui Gekikawa (激川ゆい Gekikawa Yui) is a character that appears in season 3 of Kiratto Pri☆Chan. She is a parallel version of Yui Yumekawa, the main protagonist of Idol Time PriPara.
Bio[]
Appearance[]
She has purple starry eyes and long curly yellow hair that reaches down to her waist. Her short bangs curl inwards with a single strand curling outwards, and her forelocks curl on end. She takes some locks of her hair and wears it into pigtails.
Yui appears older than her counterpart due to her default appearance being the same as Yui Yumekawa's idol form in PriPara rather than her normal self outside PriPara.
Personality[]
Much like the original Yui's personality, she is super optimistic, hard-working, and energetic. She still retains using "yume" in her sentences but says "super cute" (Gekikawa) instead of "dreamy-cute" (Yumekawa) as one of her catchphrases.
Relationships[]
Laala[]
Yui's mascot.
Maria Kanamori[]
They are relatives. The two appear to be close.
Etymology[]
Gekikawa (激川) - Geki (激) means "super" or "extremely" while kawa (川) means "river". However, the kawa in her name may be short for kawaii, similar to the kawa in Yumekawa. Put together, her last name may mean "super cute".
Yui (ゆい) means only (唯) or tie (結).
Significant Coords[]
- Pastel Dreamy Coord - Her casual coord in Pri☆Chan.
Trivia[]
- She is the fourth parallel version of a protagonist of the Pretty Series and the first parallel version of a protagonist of the PriPara series.
- She is the second parallel protagonist to be related to one of the main characters, with the first being Mia Hanazono.
